Back, Neck & Muscular Comfort

Back, Neck & Muscular Comfort

Many of us spend long hours sitting, driving or repeating the same movements, and the body quietly carries the demands of the day.

Does this sound familiar?

Experiences people often describe

  • stiffness after sitting for a long time
  • feeling tight when getting out of bed
  • tension through the shoulders and upper back
  • discomfort after desk work
  • stiffness after periods of inactivity
  • difficulty feeling comfortable after repetitive activity
  • feeling that stress makes your muscles tighten
  • wanting time for relaxation and warm therapeutic touch

A traditional Ayurvedic perspective

Movement is traditionally associated with Vata in Ayurveda. Traditional literature discusses qualities such as dryness, cold, over-exertion, irregular routines and insufficient rest within this framework. These traditional concepts are not equivalent to a medical diagnosis of a back, neck or muscular condition.

Warm oil application and massage form part of traditional Ayurvedic self-care and bodywork.

Traditional Ayurvedic massage may be offered as a relaxing wellbeing experience. An Ayurvedic consultation may explore movement, daily routine, rest and general self-care.
