Digestive Wellbeing
Digestion affects far more than mealtimes. It can shape your energy, comfort, sleep and mood throughout the day.
Does this sound familiar?
Experiences people often describe
- feeling uncomfortably full after meals
- frequent bloating
- excessive wind
- noisy or unsettled digestion
- irregular bowel habits
- constipation
- feeling that you have not completely emptied your bowels
- heaviness after eating
- indigestion
- appetite that changes from day to day
- noticing that stress affects your stomach
A traditional Ayurvedic perspective
Agni is a traditional Ayurvedic concept relating to digestion and transformation. During an Ayurvedic consultation, appetite, meal timing, food patterns, hydration and daily routine may be explored through this traditional framework.
Traditional Ayurvedic literature describes Agni using qualities such as balanced, irregular, sharp or sluggish. These traditional descriptions are not equivalent to a medical diagnosis of a digestive condition.
Ama is also a traditional Ayurvedic concept and is not presented here as scientifically established bodily toxins.
