Headaches & Migraines

Headaches & Migraines

Headaches and migraine can affect far more than the head. They may change how you work, eat, sleep, socialise and plan your day.

Does this sound familiar?

Experiences people often describe

  • recurring headaches
  • throbbing or pulsating head pain
  • pain that may be stronger on one side
  • sensitivity to light
  • sensitivity to sound
  • nausea during a migraine episode
  • tiredness before or after an episode
  • neck stiffness
  • noticing that poor sleep seems to coincide with episodes
  • noticing possible links with stress, skipped meals or changes in routine
  • experiencing visual changes or aura if this has already been medically recognised as part of your migraine pattern

These experiences may have many possible causes. This page is not intended to diagnose migraine or another headache disorder.

A traditional Ayurvedic perspective

Traditional Ayurvedic literature describes several patterns of head discomfort, including a classical description known as Ardhavabhedaka.

These traditional classifications are not equivalent to a modern medical diagnosis of migraine or another headache disorder.

During an Ayurvedic wellbeing consultation, we may explore lifestyle factors such as sleep, food patterns, hydration, stress and daily rhythm through a traditional Ayurvedic framework.

An Ayurvedic consultation is a complementary wellbeing service and does not replace medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment.

What we explore in your consultation

Depending on your individual circumstances, your consultation may explore:

  • sleep pattern
  • meal regularity
  • hydration
  • caffeine
  • stress
  • work and screen routine
  • personal trigger diary
  • digestion
  • relaxation practices

The purpose is to understand your everyday wellbeing patterns and provide practical, personalised diet and lifestyle guidance.
