Menopause & Midlife Wellbeing

Menopause & Midlife Wellbeing

Midlife can bring noticeable change. Many people describe feeling as though the routines that once worked no longer quite fit.

Does this sound familiar?

Experiences people often describe

  • changing or irregular periods
  • hot flushes or night sweats
  • changes in sleep
  • feeling more tired
  • mood changes
  • difficulty concentrating or “brain fog”
  • headaches becoming more noticeable
  • muscle or joint aches
  • changes in body shape or weight
  • feeling that routines which once worked no longer suit you

A traditional Ayurvedic perspective

Traditional Ayurveda views life as moving through different stages.

Later adulthood is traditionally discussed in relation to Vata qualities, and experiences involving warmth in relation to Pitta qualities. These traditional concepts are not equivalent to a medical description of menopause or of hormonal function.

An Ayurvedic wellbeing consultation may explore nourishment, rest, movement, daily rhythm and self-care during midlife.

The Ayur Chikitsa does not diagnose or treat menopause. Clients should continue to seek appropriate advice from their GP or menopause healthcare professional.

What we explore in your consultation

Depending on your individual circumstances, your consultation may explore:

  • sleep and rest
  • nourishment and meal rhythm
  • movement suited to this life stage
  • stress and emotional wellbeing
  • daily and seasonal routine
  • self-care practices

The purpose is to understand your everyday wellbeing patterns and provide practical, personalised diet and lifestyle guidance.
